Portland / Seattle Football trip

The 3 guys at the Football game. Great weekend

So for a awhile now I have been trying to get Nick to take a trip with me to Portland and see how cool it is. He on the other hand has been trying to get me to a Pro football game. This year we finally did both. The Washington Redskins(Nicks favorite team) played in Seattle so we planned to fly to Portland then drive up to Seattle. Some of my best Friends Mike and Amber live up there so it worked out great. Mike and Amber were nice and let us stay at thier house for a few days then all 4 of use headed up to Seattle. Saturday we all meet up with one of Mike and Ambers friends so they could get thier pictures taken so me and Nick just walked and around and chilled. Later that night we went to a hockey game(Amber was bored but thanks for going) then went back to our hotel. Sunday we woke up and Nick, Mike and I headed to the game while Amber chilled at the hotel. The Game was so cool the atmosphere was crazy everybody wearing a jersey or something team orinted. The Redskins won so that was nice for Nick cause he was decked out in his Redskins hat and Jersey. After the game we headed home. We watched a movie when we got back to Portland and then the next morning Mike was nice and drove me and Nick to the airport. Thanks to Mike and Amber for putting up with us and letting us crash at your place as always it was so good to see you both and hang out. I wish we could do it more. Thanks to Nick and Jaime(for letting him go)for finally being able to put together a great trip. It was so fun to all be back to gether like old times and talk about the fun old days we had. Heres to MANY, MANY more to come. Maybe we can all plan somthing next year.

Here are a few picture of Seattle the guys and the football game

He Shoots, He SCORES!!!!!!!

Well It has been a little while sense my last post just been busy with work and traveling with Weber State Hockey. Last night Brockton called and told me that he had a hockey game up at the Ice sheet at 7:45. I called my mom and we rode up together to his hockey game. We got there just as the game was starting. Brockton was starting Left wing for the 2nd game in a row. He has been skateing better and better as he gets more and more Ice time. So as the game went on the other team scored first which has happened in almost every game so far this year(his team is a young team and not very good yet). Then a couple minutes later Brockton was standing in front of the net and the puck came right to him he pulled it to his back hand and slide it right under the goalie. I was so excited I yelled pretty loud (which I hardly ever do) he finally had scored. You could tell he was happy also as he came skating out of the pill with his stick raised high. The game was tied 1-1. A few minuted later there Brockton was again right by the net and again the puck came to him he dribbled a little then he shoots, he scores goal number 2. I was very happy to see him get 2 goals and be playing so well. However it was short lived ans the other team came storming back to take the lead, and go on to win the game 6-3. Brockton finished the game with 2 goals and had a assist on the other goal. 3 point night not to bad. Good job Brockton you played so good hopefully there is more to come.

Happy Birthday Sis

So, really fast I just want to wish my little sister a very Happy Birthday. I can't believe how old she is. Stac I love ya and I want to thank you for being not only being my sister but my friend. Thanks for making me laugh when we talk by using boy meets world phrases or other lines from greeat movies. Hope you have a great day. HAPPY BIRTHDAY

The Bathroom

So, I finally have one room done downstairs which means I'm getting closer to finishing my basement. Jason came the other day and stained the floor and then Kyle (Sara's brother) came over and finished the plumbing up. That night I had to break the shower in so I took one and let me tell you the rain drop or top shower head is the best Idea I have had in a while. The shower curtain was a great find at Shopko. I really didn't think it would be almost the same as the tile but it matches dang near perfect. Anyways I should be getting closer to getting carpet and then cabinets and countertops and I will be done. The other day I had the home theater guys come and finish up thier part by installing a projector and connecting / hanging up the surround sound speakers. I can't wait to get pictures on here for all to see.

Rock'n and Roll'n with my Brother

Finally-
The rock band Boston finally came back in concert last night. Growing up my dad use to listen to their music all the time. He would tell stories of when he went and saw them in concert and how good it was. A few years after my dad died Boston came to concert down to Orem, Well I was able to talk my brother in to going with me down to the concert. We were both so excited to see them, well we got all the way down there with tickets in hand to find out the show had been cancelled. We were both really upset cause who knows if they will ever come back I mean they are a old band and could break up anytime. Well they didn't break up but their leader singer committed suicide just a few years ago. After hearing that I thought there is no way I would get to see them. Well I was wrong a few months ago my sister Staci called and said "did you hear who is coming in concert Boston" so right away I started looking for tickets and found that they were coming to Wendover.
So, with the remodel of my basement comes a lot of work and I am having a lot of tile work done so I thought to myself I really don't want to go to Boston by myself and this would be a good way to tell my brother(who's doing the tile work) thanks for all the help he has been and thanks for doing all the tile work. So, I planned it I bought 2 tickets online for Boston. As the time came closer I thought this also would be a good time for a little brother bonding not that we really need it cause we talk to each other almost every day but still just hanging out with my bro.
So.. What a GREAT night. We left my house at like 4:45- 5 ish and started to Wendover we listened to Boston the whole way there and talked about how much we loved the songs. We got to Wendover and picked up our tickets it was 6:30 and the show started at 8. I was lucky enough to have a coupon(cause I gamble a little and cause I'm cheap) for a buy one get one free buffet at the golden nugget. When we got there and started to walk in we kind of joked around with Boston songs.
The fan on my car keeps going after I turn the car off. I told him this and he said well its like cool the engines and I said well I think it more then a feeling(both Boston songs) we went back and forth using the song titles to finish our sentences. So, anyways we get up to the buffet and BAM steak night buffet(does it get any better?). We ate our fill of steak and other good food and headed to the concert. I thought we had great sits just off to the side about half way up. The guy next to me in his late 50's said " half these people here aren't old enough to be here" my response " well we just had good dads that taught us what good music is" he laugh and then the concert began. They played for about 1:45 playing of course all the good ones More then a feeling, Don't look back, Smokin, Amanda, Cool the engines and a lot more. My throat is sore this morning from yelling.
So we headed home one of my best friends and I use to stop on our way home from Wendover and look up at the stars cause it usually is so dark out there. So sense I haven't done that in a while I asked Jason if it was OK. We stopped and looked up at the sky for a few minutes and then headed home. I couldn't help but wish and think I wish we could of done this with dad and maybe he is looking down on us. We headed for home what a fun night we also saw something like a shooting star or a meteor of something fall from the sky and that was cool.
I think we both had a really fun night my brother and I.
Thanks Jason for being my big brother and helping with all I ask you to.

June birthdays

Well I know this is a little late but oh well. June is full of birthdays for my family so I thought I would take a second and wish everyone a happy birthday. To start out the month we have mine on the 10th and then just a week later (17th) is Brocktons(Bozo) he is 14. Funny how I'm not even a parent and I think they grow up so fast. I remember him when he lived at my house and would play hockey all the time with sock on his hands for gloves. Next comes Harli's(Kabashy) she turned 7 and already has an attitude. The fun thing about us 3 is that we all have "extra" stuff in all of our mouths. I have a "flipper" Bozo has braces and KaBashy has a retainer. And for the last birthday of the month. It happens to be today it is/would be my dads birthday he would of been 54. I had a random thought this morning as I drove to work and I should of know cause of my moms birthday but this is thier year. He was born in 1954 and he would of turned 54 today.Random I know but what else do you think about at 4:45 in the morning?
So in closing HAPPY BIRTHDAY to all of my family members and I hope you all know how much I love ya

Fathers Day

Every year the Peterson side of the family gets together over at Layton park for a fathers day reunion. As the years go on our numbers keep decreasing. I think this is mostly cause all the kids are growing up and getting married so they have 2 families to visit. But, thankfully there are still a few of us that show up every year to keep it going.

So this is the 7Th year celebrating fathers day with out my father. It is hard to say in words how much I miss my dad. It still feels like just yesterday I was telling him what my plans were for Memorial day and yelling "I'll be careful" and "their always after me"(talking about cops and wearing your seat belt) as I ran up the stair not knowing that I will ever be able to talk to him again. But I could go on and on about that day and the weeks and years that followed but not right now.
I felt like just before he died that we had started to get really close. I mean I have always been close with my dad wither it was going to work with him when I was little or if it was him standing along the glass at one of my many hockey games and road trips that he never missed. But this was a different kind of close. I was getting well, I guess I was growing up. As I redo my basement and am now ready for tile to be done I miss him even more, (My brother is doing a great job am I'm thankful for him and all his hard work in helping me) but it just isn't the same. I am not very good in the construction area and I miss being able to call my dad (who would know all the answers to my question)and get his good advice. (Again my brother is great cause I call and bug him instead.)
So, besides my brother I could ask my grandpas for advice however, this is the 6Th year with out grandpa Mills and 5Th with out my grandpa Peterson. I feel like they were so knowledgeable in so many different areas that I am not. I am so thankful for the fathers they were for my mom and dad.
In closing(sense I have just been rambling) I hope that if and when I become a father that I can take a little bit of greatness they all had. That I will be able to be as good of a father to my kids like my father was to me. He was a great example of how to work hard be a great provider and spend time with your family.

I love you old man!!
